Happy (early) Mother’s Day to moms out there! Whether you are a biological mom, step-mom, foster mom, or adoptive mom you are so important in the life of your child/children. You can literally change your child’s brain!
According to an article published on Livescience.com, “Nurturing a child early in life may help him or her develop a larger hippocampus, the brain region important for learning, memory and stress responses, a new study shows”. Furthermore, “Numerous studies also have found that children raised in a nurturing environment typically do better in school and are more emotionally developed than their non-nurtured peers”. REACH Waupun thanks all of the moms out there for their hard work. We also want to thank all of the other important people in children’s lives such as their other caregivers, mentors, and friends. We believe in the saying: “It takes a village to raise a child”, so we appreciate everyone who puts in time and loves our littles! Have a wonderful May! - Darian Schmitz
